hi

I’m Brittany. I truly enjoy creating
a safe and comfortable space to
connect with others, and I’m
so glad you’re here.

background

I received a B.A. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing and a minor in Mass Communications from the University of West Georgia in 2008. After college I moved to San Diego, California, where a couple of years later I began a MFA program for Creative Writing at San Diego State University.

During this time, I began to reconsider my career path. I became a teacher assistant at The Institute for Effective Education (TIEE)-Children’s Workshop. TIEE is a school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder that focuses on meeting their specific education needs . While at TIEE, it became clear to me that I wanted to pursue a career in mental health.

In 2013, I moved back to Georgia where I began a graduate program at Mercer University in Atlanta. Two and a half years later I earned a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I completed my counseling internship at a children’s advocacy center that serves children who have been sexually and physically abused. I have since worked as a school-based therapist and then as a staff therapist for a counseling center in North Atlanta. In July 2020, I made the transition in private practice.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC010814), certified clinical hypnotherapist, and trained in reiki energy healing level 1.

mission + purpose

I don’t view you as broken or in need of “fixing.” Most of us have the same underlying fear: “I am not good enough.” My role as your therapist is to guide and support you in unlearning these negative thinking patterns, to accept and love yourself, and empower you to live a more balanced and peaceful life.
